The questions that come up before anyone hits "book." Tap any answer to expand — and follow the links straight to a real page on SideGigs.
You browse local listings by city and category, tap a listing, and pick a date and time that works for you. Your request goes to the provider, who confirms (or declines) inside the SideGigs app. Once they confirm, you get a secure Stripe checkout link by SMS and email — pay, and the booking is locked in.
Both sides are notified at every step. You'll see all of your upcoming and past bookings in one place once you've signed up.
Buyers pay through Stripe after the provider confirms — same checkout you'd see from any online store. SideGigs then keeps a flat 10% platform fee, and the remaining 90% goes straight to the provider's connected bank account via Stripe Connect once the booking is marked complete.
You always see the full price up front on a listing — there's no "service fee" added at checkout. Browse what's actually posted on the public listings page to see prices in action.
Both buyers and providers can cancel a booking up until it starts — no awkwardness, no penalty. If a provider never confirms within 48 hours, the request auto-expires and you are never charged.
If you've already paid and the booking gets cancelled, your money comes back automatically. The platform also handles payouts in reverse if the work was already completed and refunded, so funds reach the right person without any manual chasing. Every SideGigs provider has a real profile: a name, photos of their work, the city they serve, and reviews from past bookings. Pricing is posted up front, so there's no guessing what you'll actually pay.
On your side of the counter, you're not anonymous either — SideGigs requires buyers to verify a payment method before they can book. The person on the other end of a request is a real human with a card on file, not a tire-kicker or a bot. See for yourself by browsing listings near you.
Providers set their own rates, period. You see the price (or an explicit "Contact for quote") on every listing before you book — no bidding war, no surprise add-ons, no haggling in chat. If a provider chose "Contact for quote," they reply with a custom price you can accept or decline.
Prices reflect the local market — a barber in a small town isn't competing with Manhattan rates. Browse by city to compare: find providers near you and see real rates.
